‘A superbly illustrated, mythology-themed picturebook with a very clever twist. Highly recommended!’ The Wishing Shelf

REVIEW
The first thing that jumps out about this book is the wonderful illustrations. They have a bit of a comic book feel to them; bright, colourful - I suspect they'll go down particularly well with boys! Now to the story - to be honest, that's pretty FAB too. It follows a bull, the hero of the Texas bull ring, handsome, strong - and not particularly modest. But for all his success, he's still not happy. As it says in the story - he was still truly, endlessly, hopelessly BORED. So, he sets off to find fulfilment. But, no matter where he travels, no matter who he meets, he still feels empty. In fact, it's not until a mango drops on his head that he finds what he's looking for.
I must say, I very much enjoyed this story. The rhyming is excellent and - this is not always the case for many picturebooks - the rhythm is good too. I also enjoyed the mythological/astrological twist at the end; not only is it very clever, but it also offers young readers an intro into the night sky and what can be seen there.
So, if you happen to be looking for a brightly illustrated, rhyming story for, say, 6 to 8 year olds, you can't go too far wrong with this. Young readers will love following the bull on his adventure and the suspense of trying to work out what will make him happy.
